Mekong, colouring competitions, boat trips & fun

Wonders of the Mekong, Zeb Hogan

We organised events for the whole month of April. Most of the events are focused on students and young people.

  • 1 April: First boat tour of the Mekong generation with Fishermen learning the life on the river, fishing techniques and equipment, and dinner on the boat with the fisher’s family.  
  • 3 April: Anuvath Primary School in four classes from grade 1-4. It started with some basic games, followed by coloring contest and story telling about how giant catfish migrate in the Tonle Sap and Mekong river. We target 200 students. 
  • 3 April: Kampong Samnanh Primary School in four classes from grade 1-4. We will start with some basic games, followed by coloring contest and story telling about how giant catfish migrate in the Tonle Sap and Mekong river. We target 130 students. 
  • 3 April: Prek Tapov Primary School in four classes from grade 1-4. We will start with some basic games, followed by coloring contest and story telling about how giant catfish migrate in the Tonle Sap and Mekong river. We target 190 students. 
  • 6-8 April: Mekong Water Supply Booth with fish and the river messages at Bonn Phum (cultural village festival
  • 6-8 April: Rubbish bins with fish and the river messages at Bonn Phum (cultural village festival) 
  • 6-8 April: Meditation in the morning with appreciation of the river messages at Bonn Phum (cultural village festival) 
  • 6-8 April: Young Eco Ambassador Booth (Photo Game and Fish hanger) and Wonders of the Mekong Booth (posters display)
  • 6-8 April: Painting of giant stingray for display 
  • 21 April: Boat trip with fishermen
